The British silk Maison announces Her Regal Majesty as its first Official Royal Patron following the inaugural SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon at Mansion House, London.
Her Regal Majesty Ǫueen Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi has been announced as the first Official Royal Patron of SELHAYA®, the British silk Maison founded in London by Aisha Hossain and Sajjad Choudhury.
The announcement is marked by Her Regal Majesty wearing The Coronation, a gold crystal and pearl silk piece from SELHAYA’s Royal Collection. Created as a tribute to modern majesty, the piece reflects the Maison’s language of ceremonial silk, cultural storytelling and refined craftsmanship.
Upon accepting the role, Her Regal Majesty said:
“True luxury is not measured by what we wear, but by the legacy we weave. As Official Royal Patron of SELHAYA®️, I proudly champion a House where silk becomes heritage, craftsmanship becomes culture, and elegance becomes a timeless legacy.”
The appointment follows Her Regal Majesty’s attendance as Guest of Honour at the inaugural SELHAYA Royal Cultural Salon, held at Mansion House, City of London, on 27 June 2026.
Set within one of London’s historic civic residences, the Salon brought together guests from across culture, luxury, fashion, philanthropy, entrepreneurship and the arts for an afternoon dedicated to silk, craftsmanship, heritage and legacy.
The occasion featured a presentation of SELHAYA’s ceremonial silk pieces, the debut of the Maison’s first framed silk artworks, and an inspiring speech from Her Regal Majesty on fashion and identity.
For SELHAYA, the Royal Patronage marks a defining moment in the House’s early journey. Founded as a British silk Maison, SELHAYA creates ceremonial garments, private commissions, framed silk artworks and cultural salons for clients and patrons who value craft, presence and meaning.
The Maison’s world is rooted in the belief that luxury should not only be worn, but collected, gifted and remembered.
During the Mansion House Salon, SELHAYA presented Her Regal Majesty with The Sovereign Jewel, an original framed silk artwork created on gold taffeta silk with hand embroidery of more than 800 crystals.
The work was created as a gesture of gratitude, respect and shared cultural purpose. Designed with pearlwork, sapphire-toned accents and symbolic composition, The Sovereign Jewel represents SELHAYA’s evolution from silk worn as garments to silk framed as art.
As Official Royal Patron, Her Regal Majesty graciously lends her support to SELHAYA’s cultural mission: celebrating craftsmanship, women’s dignity, heritage, philanthropy and legacy through the language of silk.
Her Regal Majesty’s public work is closely associated with humanitarian service, women, children, community empowerment and African heritage. Through Hopes Alive Initiative for Africa, she continues to champion causes rooted in dignity, opportunity and social impact.
Her patronage of SELHAYA reflects a shared commitment to beauty with purpose. It brings together African royal heritage, British silk craftsmanship and the Maison’s growing cultural platform.
For Aisha Hossain and Sajjad Choudhury, the appointment recognises SELHAYA as more than a fashion label. It positions the House as an emerging cultural luxury Maison where silk becomes a medium for ceremony, storytelling and legacy.
With The Coronation, SELHAYA introduces one of its most symbolic visual statements to date: gold silk, crystal and pearl craftsmanship created to mark a moment of royal patronage and modern majesty.
In Her Regal Majesty’s words, true luxury is not measured by what we wear, but by the legacy we weave.
For SELHAYA, that legacy now enters a new chapter.
